I explain in more detail further on about OCD & Sensory Issues both of which are related to the brain in future posts.
However I like to go into detail on what Aspergers as been to me. To me i've described Aspergers as a 'double edged sword' in a world used to single edged sword fighters; I didn't even understand the analogy back then, but part of me did on a deeper level. To explain the analogy a single edge sword, in a sword fight a single edge sword can have it's blunt side be pushed by it's holder to give extra strength when it's holder as the sword locked with an opponent's sword. The holder's opponent can also 'parry', deflect the sword by hitting it's blunt end to throw the holder off balance. A double edged sword cannot be pushed but it is also much more difficult to parry without being cut. Neither sword has a net benefit, however in a world full of single sword fighters it makes difficult for a young double sword fighter to learn how to use the sword properly and therefore is at a disadvantage.
Asperger's for me was the same thing; I always noticed that people around me would give advice on how to learn and adapt to the world, but much of it I knew didn't apply to how things were affecting me as a person, or just not in a way I could accept.
I used to have alot of problems when I was growing up that would avergate my sensory issues and OCD elements. Once I got past those I began to realize that many of the problems I had were much like everyone else's problems; Aspergers had just given me a lower threshold for dealing with these problems and I wanted them solved.
And I did, I began collecting my techniques into notes and memories and now that I am on the cusp on solving almost all my problems i'm publishing my techniques in a book and on this blog.
The important idea i'm trying to state is: Aspergers only has a few differences but those produce very subtle issues that develop in a unique way; a way to the rest of the world is foreign and does not know how to deal with. Many of the problems you have, everyone else on this planet has, but the manifest in a unique way, since there are few that know how to deal with these problems from an Aspie point of view many Aspies feel unsure or unknown of the rules and patterns to follow in society.
Let me know what you think.
