Supreme Theory on Aspergers (Tada!)

My theory on Aspergers is very simple: there are two... only two differences between Aspies and nonaspies: OCD/A Need for Sameness & Sensory Issues. All the other problems are truely shared by all humans. However, these two issues manifest themselves in a unique way to subtly influence the behavior that is now classified as Aspergers.

I explain in more detail further on about OCD & Sensory Issues both of which are related to the brain in future posts.

However I like to go into detail on what Aspergers as been to me. To me i've described Aspergers as a 'double edged sword' in a world used to single edged sword fighters; I didn't even understand the analogy back then, but part of me did on a deeper level. To explain the analogy a single edge sword, in a sword fight a single edge sword can have it's blunt side be pushed by it's holder to give extra strength when it's holder as the sword locked with an opponent's sword. The holder's opponent can also 'parry', deflect the sword by hitting it's blunt end to throw the holder off balance. A double edged sword cannot be pushed but it is also much more difficult to parry without being cut. Neither sword has a net benefit, however in a world full of single sword fighters it makes difficult for a young double sword fighter to learn how to use the sword properly and therefore is at a disadvantage.

Asperger's for me was the same thing; I always noticed that people around me would give advice on how to learn and adapt to the world, but much of it I knew didn't apply to how things were affecting me as a person, or just not in a way I could accept.
I used to have alot of problems when I was growing up that would avergate my sensory issues and OCD elements. Once I got past those I began to realize that many of the problems I had were much like everyone else's problems; Aspergers had just given me a lower threshold for dealing with these problems and I wanted them solved.
And I did, I began collecting my techniques into notes and memories and now that I am on the cusp on solving almost all my problems i'm publishing my techniques in a book and on this blog.

The important idea i'm trying to state is: Aspergers only has a few differences but those produce very subtle issues that develop in a unique way; a way to the rest of the world is foreign and does not know how to deal with. Many of the problems you have, everyone else on this planet has, but the manifest in a unique way, since there are few that know how to deal with these problems from an Aspie point of view many Aspies feel unsure or unknown of the rules and patterns to follow in society.

Let me know what you think.

Nice Intro Book on Aspergers

I read a few pages of this book and I realize This is a nice overview of the rules you become aware of when your growing up with Aspergers. I realize I left out a lot of elements in my own book because many of them had become common sense.

The points are very basic, not much advanced techniques to work with; to tie all the points together into a cohesive strategy but it's an excellent start. I would recommend reading this before my book (at least in it's current state :D ). For those who take things literally; don't take this book to literally... the social rules, especially about a clean state shouldn't be worried about too much; when you do deeper into 'social dynamics' you'll begin to understand this better.

Intro

Hello All

I'm writing a book on Asperger's to describe the theory and techniques I used to improve myself; that let me get out of the trap many Aspies find themselves in because they arn't aware of what they should do.

Feel free to vent your opinions on my posts in this blog; even if they arn't logical or you don't understand them; your opinions, your feelings are important. Whenever I tried to convince my Aspie friends of these techniques they would often ignore them when they needed it the most. So I feel it's important to gather these feelings as to best craft these techniques into something that can easily be adopted and improved.

My ultimate goal is to write a best selling book on Aspergers, making alot of money off it (when pigs fly), making a textbook reference for Aspies to improve themselves the best they can, unlocking the hidden talent they feel has always been inside them yet they just don't know how to express. Ultimately I know that anyone who reads my book or this blog must put alot of fate in me to trust that my methods will work for there unique personality. The only proof I have for these methods are that they work for me; I say try them for a while and 'record' your response. Then post your response and your feelings so that this info can be used to improve techniques; I believe underneath our unique personalities exist very subtle similarities that if understood can be used to benefit Aspies and more.
